7-18-12 American Fork Steele Days Parade

Through out summer, the Kofford and Worsley family have been in several parades all over Utah County to promote Coopers Run. This day was the Steele Days Parade in American Fork, UT. I love it when we are in Utah to be a part of the parade. To pass out otter pops, fliers, tell the parade goers who cooper is and why the run was started, (To honor the EMT, EMS, firemen and woman, and police officers who responded to the call of coopers accident and showed so much respect to the Kofford family) and to run along the parade till we are sweaty and ready to pass out, with exhilaration of being a part of a fun and amazing event.

"I'm sweaty mom," and we hadn't even started walking the parade yet.

At the end....

Silently grabbing a balloon and letting it go for Cooper! Quinn didn't say a word, but I could tell that's what he meant to do.

EVERYONE was worked. They heat was not nice to us. But the fun sustained us.
Chance hopped off the back of the semi to stop traffic so we could cross into a church parking lot.
I walked a few blocks to pick up cars to pick up everyone waiting at the church, loaded naomi's bike and kids into my van, and laughed at the sight of sweaty kids packed in with balloons.
One last moment of fun, Hunters Friends

As we left the Church parking lot where we pulled the semi truck in to let everyone safely off, I pulled up to a stop sign and looked to my left. This poor man was out mowing his front lawn. He walked with a limp as he pushed the mower. The longer I watched him, it didn't make sense that half his lawn was totally dead. Why even bother mowing?

After a lunch with sisters and cousins at El Pollo Loco, we were invited to swim at the Koffords. Good thing cause we were all about to sweat to death. This is Audrey wanting her cousin Norkaka to love her back.

Later that night we roasted marshmallows at the Smiths. Heidi went out after we were all done and moved a metal roaster on the floor, then accidentally stepped on it. I was in the front yard talking to Jennifer and Wendy when I heard her screaming. Pore thing had an immediate blister. However, I had a hard time being sympathic because I warned all the kids over and over and over not to go out to the fire pit with out a mom there with them. While the moms were outside talking, she snuck out there, and THIS happened:
