Mothers Beach April 2011

On Friday April 1st, Naomi had a furlough day from school. We had planned for Elaina, Heidi's friend to come play, but didn't have plans for Naomi. So when my cousin Amber texted me that she and a bunch of friends and cousins would be going to the beach, I jumped on the chance to take the kids to play with cousins and get out of the house. We went to Mothers Beach in Long Beach. The weather was perfect and the company there even more enjoyable.

Elaina Butler is Heidi's best friend in the whole wide world. She used to live around the corner from us, but now lives in San Dimas. Every day Heidi begs to have a play date with Elaina, so her mother and I make the drive every other week or so so these two can play. If they had it their way they would just live with each other. This morning Elaina's dad brought her to our home early when he came to work in Monrovia. Around 10 I got the call that my cousin was going to the beach. So I called to get permission for Elaina to come with us since I knew Heidi wouldn't be ok dropping her off too soon. These two had so much fun running and splashing in the water, playing in the sand, and swinging on the play set close to where we sat. It made it easier on me having an extra child there to play with Heidi.

Burhley Cousins visit California 3-11

Naomi and Eliza Burhley, best 2nd cousins.

St. Patricks Day!

Naomi told me the night before this was supposed to be due that she wanted to make a Leprechaun trap. So we quickly found what we ha around the house, with her ideas of what she wanted it to look like, and threw it together so she could go to bed. So see here...

We took a kleenex box and covered it with green paper, the same paper we used for the grass. Then we took popsicle sticks to make a ladder that goes up to the top that had tissue paper we colored green. We chose the shiniest gold pennies from our coin jar and glued them to the top to attract the Leprechaun. Then we twisted gold pipe cleaners into circles to look like coins that led to the ladder. That was is. We did the best we could to fulfil her imagination of what she wanted it too look like, then I shushed her off to bed. The next morning it made it in one dried piece to school. Yes! Next time I'm going to tell her it's too late, since this was optional and just for fun. Not required or graded.

So this is one of the first days that I set Audrey down and she didn't cry. She totally hammed it up for the camera. So we took a few more, mother desired, pics of all three of them. Doesn't get cuter than this.

Heidi rarely leaves her hair in pony tails or braids or even her bows or flowers that I take the time to put in her. So when she left her hair in for St Patricks Day, so neatly pulled tight, even after preschool, I was sooooooo happy and wanted to take a million pictures to enjoy a clean look.

Notice that the messiness is going to begin. So my desire to keep her clean only lasted as long as these pictures. Shortly there after she had green play doe, made at school, all over her skin and cloths.

Naomi's 7th Birthday!

On the Friday before Naomi's birthday, which fell on a Sunday, I took cupcakes to Naomi's school. SHe helped me set them out on the lunch tables before her teacher dismissed the class to come and enjoy them with her. She loved being the one to set up and have everyone have cupcakes for Her birthday.

Luna Sol Girls: A Healing Meditation

This is a new Holistic blog started by my good friend April and my cousin Jacque. I love it since it brings all the positives of life out through how we think, feel and the way we live our lives. Check it out.

Heidi's 4th Birthday!

On Heidi's fourth birthday, 12-13-10, we went to Disneyland, just her and I. Well, it ended up being Audrey, Me, Nanna and a surprise visitor, Luke Estes, Heidi's cousin from Georgia. This is a mobil upload. I'll have to add more pictures later when I put them on my computer.
I had a friend pick up Naomi from school so Heidi could have a special day all by herself. She had picked out this Repunzel dress when I was trying to buy Christmas presents. I decided to give it to her for her b-day so she could wear it on this special day. However, we decided to wait till the line to see Repunzel wasn't so long. But by the time we walked back, the line was closed. So they let us go in the exit to just get a peek @ her. We'll work on waiting in line the next time we go to Disneyland. She wanted so bad to see her. Next time!
