It's the end of the summer and Heidi was "bored," so I put her to work cleaning windows. She actually liked it. Audrey even tried to join in by snagging the windex bottle, so I gave her a water spray bottle and a rag. I had to kind of follow behind her and wipe up random water spots. But it gave them something to do, even if it was only for about 10 minutes.
Lately I've been trying to make new an interesting dinner meals. But all I get after hours of cooking and excitement on my end, is complaining from Naomi and Heidi. So, fed up, I told them that it would be their turn to make dinner the next night. "Start thinking of what you are going to make for us, and we'll eat it," I kept reminding them. The next day while I decided to make cinnamon rolls, I reminded the girls again. Naomi's response? "You were serious about that?" YES! Heidi jumped right on it and made heart shaped rolls with chocolate chips on them. I made a salad so we weren't just eating sugary dough. But I think I'll continue to do this. Heidi loves to help in the kitchen anyway, so it will just be convincing Naomi to help so she appreciates all the time that goes into making dinner.
Oh yeah, I also was on a roll and made this Lime & Mascarpone Ice Cream. It's been so hot that ice cream sounded so good, so I pulled out my ice cream book and chose this one. I loved it. Wasn't Ryan's favorite, but I don't care. It was new and tried!
