Naomi Angry at our President for the Upcoming Recession/Depression

I've been reading the American Girl Doll books for the doll Kit to Naomi and Heidi. We are not reading them in order. We read 1, 6 and then we'll move on to 5. There's no rhyme or reason we've gone out of order. Just that the Arcadia Library has been out of the others when we have looked each Thursday (Heidi and I go to the library while Naomi is at gymnastics across the street.) I think I've enjoyed reading and getting to know the stories more than the girls. One night when we got to the last chapter of the "The Little Princess" I brought the book to bed with me so I could read the end of the story. I didn't want to wait till the next nights bed time to find out the end as I read it to them. Crazy, I know.
Tonight (9-27-11) while reading "Changes for Kid," we are in the chapter where Kit's mom takes apart an old coat of her fathers, cuts it down to kits size, and resews it together for a new coat for kit. Then a sweater is unravelled to make a hat and mittens. Kit is so excited that she decides to give her old coat away to a homeless child. She ends up at a shelter and finds a little girl whose coat is torn and worn out so bad it looks like a heap of cloths. Kit explains that there are kids who don't have shoes, or they have cut out the front so their toes can grow out the front. So I took the opportunity to talk to Naomi about how much she has. She seriously has 30 pairs of shoes. I asked if she understood how lucky she is? Then I asked if she wanted to choose a few pairs and take them to a shelter? She excitedly agreed. I took the opportunity to talk about how important it is to save our money. Here's our conversation:

Me: You know, our country is going to be like it was in the time of kit.
Naomi with a puzzled look: What? Why?
Me: Because a lot of people spent too much government money.
Naomi with an angry look on her face: Why hasn't our President done anything about it?
Me completely shocked at her wisdom: Exactly, that's what he is supposed to be doing. That's why a lot of people don't like him. That's why it's important for us to vote, so we can choose who we want as president.
Naomi: We need a new president!

Ryan and I try to educate my kids on what is going on in the world. But I didn't expect this response from Naomi. I could tell it was stewing inside her and had to tell her not to worry about it. She had "Where the Sidewalk Ends" on her lap so I told her to read a funny book and not worry about things she can't change. Sometimes she asks questions that are beyond her age, and won't let up till she knows everything about a certain subject. It gets frustrating on my end. But hopefully she'll put it to good use as she grows and matures. (Not too fast)
