Naomi's 11th Birthday Surprises!! 3/12/15-3/13/15

While doing a little thrift store shopping while my car was being serviced, I saw this 80's teal prom dress. I thought it was perfect for a "cinderella"  dress up, but didn't buy it at the time. Then as I went home and thought about it the next two days, and made the resolve that I would take Naomi to see the new movie for her birthday, I drove back to the thrift store and was so shocked it was still there. I snagged it fast and headed home. I had Naomi try it on later that day and had to take the waist line in a little. But she surprisingly liked the idea of wearing it.

Naomi didn't know that I had bought her and I tickets to see Cinderella, Not just at the theater, but at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles. I picked her up from school early had her dress ready to put on, had her change in the car, and be ready to do a special walk through the streets to the theater.

Surprise!!!  We arrived around 3 pm to get in line for seats. The street was completely blocked off. As we stood in line, I asked a few of the ushers what was going on. We were told that President Obama was in the studio next door filming Jimmy Kimmel. There were secret service men all over. It was nuts. But a fun addition to our experience. I had never been to the El Capitan myself. This was a treat.

It is no joke that the waist line of this dress was tiny. Seeing it in person was amazing. And I'm sure all the layers of the skirt worn in the movie weren't there. The waist of the actual dress was smaller than Naomi's tiny waist. Not kidding.

Here we go? Curtain Up!

Waiting in line to get a "Cinderella Swirl Sunday" at the girardelli store. Of course as you exit the theater, they have you leave through the girardelli store. So we had to stop. One more thing to make it a special date.

Truly, the costumes were amazingly beautiful. A man told us to hurry down stairs to see the costumes and props since they were only on display for the premier and it would be crowded down there after the movie. So Naomi and I hurried down right after we found seats and left my coat on the seats we had chosen.

We hurried in to the theater to get a front row seat.

All the dresses, cloths, props and even the glass slipper were on display for the premier.
