Sunday Afternoon: 7-8-12

Just a little Sunday reading! I have been trying to sit down to read "Catching Fire" by Sandra Collins, since I loved "Hunger Games." I tried to read HG before but thought it was too violent for me. Yet when I saw the movie trailer, I gave it a second chance. So this past Sunday, after we all laid down, I sat on the couch reading. Audrey played with the Jenga blocks for a while, then kept bringing me books to read to her. I finally put her on this chair and gave her some water and a book. She loved it! Just like momma.

Once the girls couldn't contain themselves anymore, I let them out to play with all the kids in the neighborhood.

Amarican Girl Book Club, Part 2!

This week the girls danced to an Indian "Mate Dance."

Then The girls made flat bags and biscuits, similar to what the indians made and used to carry food!

Then Kelly led the girls in the question/answer part of the club.

The dolls that were brought today: Kanani, Josephine, Kit and Crissa!

Then the last 15 minutes turned into a water fight! Much needed for the 90 degree weather.

Holland Dowdles 4th Birthday Party 7-3-12

Holland Dowdle, is number 5 of a fun family we like to call friends, almost family. She just turned 4 and had her birthday party at Party Kingdom in Chino, Ca. This place is not just a bounce house, it's a party, play, service and all around entertainment in one.

This was the arrival of the goods; cupcakes, chips, dip, guac, succors, and veggies with dip.

Once most all the guest had arrived, the kids were lined up to get instructions on do's and don'ts of the bounce houses, and to get a stamp to show they are part of the party.

Holland was 1st!

 Princess Holland of the Jungle

Then it was time to "BOUNCE!" Audrey was too cautious to try bounce or slide. So she stuck with the baby toys at first.

Then we headed to a cannon ball cage. 2 guns on each side. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to shoot for the holes on the other side, but we had more fun shooting each other.
 Naomi had a good aim!
Heidi and Holland scurried to pick up all the balls that kept coming in our direction to push them through quickly at the same time.

Even Audrey picked up on how to shoot the balls.

American Gladiators, anyone!? Remember these? Heidi didn't last long. I don't blame her.
She'd rather just shoot the ball in the hoop.
 The Slides!

Audrey thought she'd try to follow her sisters, but second guess when all the kids kept pushing past her to climb the long latter.

After the first room, we were escorted to a second room with a zip line in the middle of one of the bouncer. It was the highlight of this room for sure.

With all the bouncing, the kids were starving, but the food wasn't quite set up, so the limbo pole was brought out to distract them. Go Holland!
 Naomi
 Heidi, just crawled!

Peter Pan @ Glendale Center Theater 6-31-12

We saw a kids showing of Peter Pan with our friends, the Dowdles. It was so fun and very kid friendly.

Then after the show, we all came home and b-b-qed and swam. The weather was perfect.

Audrey made a mess, as usual. She loved the "fat boys" as a dessert. Made are with it.

When our friends went home I walked out to clean up a little and found this on the far side of the yard. Heidi had set this up to play with Holland. Candy, leaves and petals.
